Research has shown that speaking an inquiry is faster and yields speedier results than typing it into a search box, and in today’s fast-paced world where attention span is short, and patience is even shorter, it’s the guy at the top of search results who’s going to get the conversion.

One easy tweak involves using questions on your webpages. Decide what question a user would ask to find websites like yours, and then incorporate them into your content. Instead of trying to rank for keywords such as liquor store in Boston, consider longer, more detailed and more localized phrases such as Who sells wine coolers near South Street? or craft beer near me.

People using voice search are typically out and about with friends, at work, or at school. They want quick answers to long-tail questions. Make sure your website reflects this. There are tools online to help.

Voice searchers want to get where they’re going right now. If you can prove you’re the closest retailer to carry the latest Greta Van Fleet on vinyl, you may very well snag the sale, even if you’re pricier than the local superstore. Make sure to incorporate phrases such as near me into your content and use commonly known nicknames for local areas that surround you.
